Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle For all the movie's virtues, Pig Hunt is hampered by the usual faults of the horror genre -- undeveloped characters, jokes that fall flat and dialogue that often feels like filler. Rated: 2/4 Oct 30, 2009 Full Review Marc Mohan Oregonian Despite the retro-dirt-track ambience of a Rob Zombie film, Pig Hunt comes off more like a SciFi Channel B movie. Audience Member Amusingly poor horror flick featuring a giant man-eating boar and a lot of Tina Huang in her bra. A muddy 'n' bloody mix of Razorback, Deliverance and Mad Max. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Far exceeded my expectations. The low budget hurt it in some pretty glaringly obvious places (acting calibre, for one) but they ran with what they had and what we end up with ain't too shabby. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this movie, but that doesn't make it good film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh my, what does one say about Pig Hunt? Let's start with the song, Booneville Stomp, from Les Claypool. I love the song, but I love even more the way they inserted bits of it throughout the film to set the mood. Well done. This film started very slow, and I fell asleep the first time I tried to watch it. I went back for another go and I'm glad I did. We've got pig heads, we've got human heads, we've got boobies and we've got blood and guts and bones all over the place. There's a lot going on. We have the hillbillies hell bent on revenge, trying to kill the city folk, we have the hippies trying to feed the city folk to a giant wild boar, we've got the city folk killing the hillbillies and the hippies to survive, and sadly, everyone's so busy killing everyone else, no one paid any attention to the glorious marijuana crop. For what I would consider a member of the "bad horror" genre, this was actually quite pleasantly gruesome and entertaining after the boring start. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member a film that made no sense whatsoever ...but i loved it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A teen slasher meets deliverance meets X-Files. Pretty sure this was shot over a long weekend for a whopping budget of $14 and a Subway sandwich. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
