01/20/2019 Was not a fan of this movie. I only made it 1/2 way through before turning it off (that's a very occurrence for me). It's not that the movie is horrible, it just wasn't interesting or entertaining. It's not a traditional horror per say... it's more akin to a dark thriller/drama. Don't watch this is you're looking for scares. FYI if you do want to see it there's a decent copy on YouTube that has English subs, and it's broken up into 2 parts... just search The Forbidden Door. See more 01/20/2013 I thought Darah was the only Indonesian movie to encompass the definition of the Indonesian horror/thriller genre. Well, proven me wrong. This movie was really disturbing & twisted which made for an awesome horror thriller. The storyline was very riveting, kept me engaged and made me intrigued. I liked how the characters played were so distinctive and yet subtle at the same time. Overall, a pretty good movie if you can stomach its dark, gritty concept.
