Jacob B While certain aspects of the documentary have sadly aged like milk thanks to certain changes in real life (not just John Lasseter but also the ending where a desire was expressed to have 2D animation make a comeback; a gamble that didn't pay off after The Princess and the Frog wasn't the box office smash Disney was hoping for), The Pixar Story is otherwise a really good documentary on the revolutionary animation studio, not afraid to admit how troubled their productions could get, offering interesting insight into how they brought groundbreaking new animation techniques to the table and even getting to see some, as far as I know, rare footage of Pixar staff just having fun. A really good documentary that's sure to please Pixar fans and aspiring animators alike. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/12/23 Full Review Charles H Incredible film that I honestly like watching more than some of the movies. One of my favorite quotes is "Most overnight successes took a long time." Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A documentary film about the rise of Pixar and the development of their first six films. Narrated by Stacy Keach and told through interviews, the film focuses on the professional career of John Lasseter and how he and Steve Jobs founded Pixar. This movie is directed by Leslie Iwerks, who is the granddaughter of Ub Iwerks, the co-creator of Mickey Mouse with Walt Disney. This film is well put together and features relevant interviews. Since Pixar is still producing hit films, they should make an updated version or sequel that includes the more modern achievements. A film worth your time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Achei muito bacana a forma em que foi feito o documentário, mostrando de uma forma bem organizada como tudo começou e como foi feito os filmes. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member If you love & appreciate Pixar, this is an absolute must watch !
