ADRIANA P N A good movie that shows a different side of the Sicilian mafia and does not romanticize nor idolize it. You should also be aware that contains some hard scenes that can be shocking if you have not been exposed to those kind of movies. I would recommend this movie because the production, the story and the actors, even if it was filmed in 2000 is fenomenal. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review VALENTINA P I really liked the movie and found it interesting. It's a great movie to understand more about the Sicilian mafia, the impact of World War 2 and how things worked back then. Also, it talks about the story of Placido Rizzotto and his impact. Personally, perfect movie to watch for a class to discuss about this character. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Natalia M Placido Rizzoto is a very interesting movie, about a man that risked his life for defending his hometown. Normally, movies that involve the mafia, show you the oppressor's point of view. In this case, we see the world through the eyes of the oppressed. This movie was the first one I saw in my italian class, focused in the italian mafia, I highly recommend it if you're into these types of movies and want a change of pace. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Orlando R. R A very wonderful piece of Italian cinema by Pasquale Scimeca. Based around the aftermath of the World War ll and the main character Placido Rizzotto's return to his hometown, he sees how the mafia has the small place under their control. The very emotional performance by Rizzotto's actor Marcello Mazzarella should be considered one of the most outstanding Italian performances of the 2000's and the scenery seen in the film compliments the peace that is sought by the main character. I definitely recommend this film to all those that seek a different style of Mafia Movies!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review PRECIOUS P I believe this is a great movie to match, however it does gave some scenes where some viewers may not be comfortable with...I tend to be one of those people and yet I saw it. it's a great way to slowly introduce students into Italian history, the Italian mafia and so on. This is a film that encompasses various topics which makes for great conversation in both social and educational settings. The story of Placido Rizzoto is one that demonstrates the reality and misfortunes of what tends to happen to opressed minorities. the cinematography, camera angles and filming sites/locations are very beautiful and eye catching. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Gabriela P Excelente pelicula si te interesa ver otro punto de vista sobre la mafia. Al principio un poco lenta pero despues es muy entretenida. Muy buen final Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
