Bowdon W Jun 22 Started out as a decent if a bit laughable B disaster movie but as it got toward the end it seriously began to strain credulity from the ocean voyage to save the world that has to be done in 24 hours or less notwithstanding that a voyage from the west coast to where they were going would take 3 or more weeks by sea(sorry fellas physics is physics) to the guy whose going to start his modern car by hand cranking it while it's getting hit by an em pulse from mother earth for electricity to fire the plugs well I don't know about you but I've never seen a modern car with a hand crank starter not to mention that the em pulse that disabled the car in the first place would have fried all the control modules without which modern cars can't run I'm all for a good yarn but please people at least try to maintain a passing acquaintance with reality sheesh. See more 03/21/2022 Very poor cgi and music score. Not enough pace, clichéd conversations and scenarios. Best to avoid and watch a documentary on magnetic forces instead. See more 05/19/2021 This was rough. I understand this movie was made over a decade ago but the CGI was.. painful. Somehow they're able to travel thousands of miles in minutes but spend the entire movie trying to travel 10 miles. Slow moving sub you say? Able to reach a point on the other side of the world in no time. EMP? Just turn the car off and wait it out. EMP while holding a cell phone? Entire body charred beyond recognition. High school science classes would be enough education to call foul on half of the science depicted in this movie. It's like a billion cliches rolled into a film. The government is hiding knowledge of everything for the greater good. The military is blindly following orders with no situational awareness (and they're highly mobilized instantly.) Nobody wants to listen to the scientist. The Air Force base Security Forces vehicle is apparently the only one they own so a four star general is driving it at one point. It's just.. a masterpiece of cringe. I gave it 1.5 stars because the film work wasn't awful. See more Read all reviews
