Simon Foster sbs.com.au Centred by a world-class debut performance by teenager Paula Beer, the emotional scope and physical scale of The Poll Diaries (aka, Poll in its homeland) recalls the best works of Werner Herzog, Terence Malick, Rgis Wargnier and Yimou Zhang. Audience Member A very strange kind of a real story of weird people on a gorgeous Estonian coast line. Would have benefitted from at least 30 minutes shorter length... easily. Apparently most expensive Estonian film ever and based on real people, with color pencils. :) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent but too lengthy and unfocused. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this coming-of-age story of Oda Schaefer. The historical context of Germano-Russian Estonia was especially interesting!
