Atmosphere is well constructed, but never realizes the horrifying final confrontation with repressed trauma which is somewhat a letdown...the screenplay feels a little underdeveloped and sparse in places, and at some points the film feels stuck on repeat.

95% A pretty great messed up, psychological thriller. The aesthetic grimy look abandoned buildings looks like a Wasteland. The cinematography is great to get the British landscapes like the fields and some of the woods. The music atmospheric captures perfectly the looming dread that’s throughout the film. Messaging about guilt, sorrow carrying excess baggage confronting your own demons. Recommend it collection worthy! You can watch it free on Tubi, Xumo Play, Plex & Freevee.

The best horror movie, no doubts! the spider its just an image that i cant erase of my mind this gave me nightmares not like other movies with the same things, the same plot, the same “monsters” that are not scary at all, its an underrated masterpice people dont apreciate how well done is it the atmosphere make us feel the trauma

Deeply disturbing. Philip is mentally ill and obsessed with a strange spider like puppet with a human head. For some reason, he is forced to return to his deceased parents home where his crazy uncle Maurice lives. The house is filled with soot from the fire that no one has cleaned. Every where Philip goes seems old, dark and dirty. Philip is taunted by bad memories which is explained at the end. This is not a pleasant film, but will appeal to David Lynch fans. Moody ,dark and depressing, but in a good way.
