Not much happens for the majority of the movie, and sometimes it feels like you are watching pretty much nothing. But, there are layers to this film. It is all about running from your trauma, and how you can’t escape it unless you face it.

Don’t get it. Criminally overrated. The possum monster is barely in it. I was so bored I was begging for someone to die. This is an exercise in creepiness for creepiness’ sake, story be damned, mostly from the score. Harris’ downturned face is the scariest thing in it. Go watch The Shining or The Thing instead if you want isolation horror.

Absolutely not for everyone. It’s abstract in style and the vibe is extremely unsettling. The entire film is uncomfortable, slowly building up tension until it’s almost unbearable. While disturbing, it holds a lot of truth and deeper meaning. It has valuable things to say. It’s a horror film through and through, but more to do with very real horrors one may find in the world and within ourselves, less to do with jump scares.

I enjoyed the prop design a lot, definitely had a few moments of lurking dread, mostly towards the end. Unfortunately, the movie was too caught up in trying to be abstract and artsy that it kind of lost the story. You can piece together what happened for the most part, but large parts of the story are never really wrapped up. The sexual abuse plot was suddenly thrust (no pun intended) into the story at the very end instead of subtly hinted at through the film which was jarring. The story telling was heavily lacking. I somewhat enjoyed the film, but I wouldn't recommend it to any friends or family members.

It’s not for everyone, but I think it is very good. It presents you with a mentally ill man wandering through lifeless landscapes while you try to guess what’s actually going on. Don’t go in expecting a normal horror movie about an evil spider in a bag.
