Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Low budget film about a guy who is a struggling actor that comes in contact with his old girlfriend and finds out she is getting hitched in a few days to another man. He is still in love with this girl who is getting married. I didn't like the ending. Jones Chicago Reader Early scenes reminiscent of Hollywood Shuffle spoof the typecasting of African-Americans as pimps and drug dealers, but when the hero finally lands an audition for a dignified role in a serious film he falls flat on his face. Jul 13, 2022 Full Review Steve Murray Atlanta Journal-Constitution In gasoline terms, Premium isn't. But the romantic dramedy has some high-octane emotional moments, thanks to writer-director Pete Chatmon's wise dissection of the games one-time lovers play. Rated: B- Mar 1, 2007 Full Review Nick Schager Slant Magazine Premium's believable moments slightly prevail over its inauthentic ones, helping writer-director Pete Chatmon's modestly played drama just barely cross over the brink of compelling naturalism.
