Harrison Richlin IndieWire The documentary acts as an intimate study of what it means to serve others when it seems like the world is falling apart and to be a partner and mother at the same time. Rated: B Jun 26, 2025 Full Review Robert Abele Los Angeles Times “Prime Minister” is an essential political portrait in how it seeds optimism and concern, leaving you with hope that more Jacinda Arderns are in the wings ready to enshrine common sense, despite the risks. Jun 23, 2025 Full Review Thelma Adams AARP Movies for Grownups There's something incredibly, wistfully sad about this sympathetic documentary charting the rise and fall of New Zealand's third female Prime Minister, Dame Jacinda Ardern. Rated: 4/5 Jun 13, 2025 Full Review John Serba Decider Prime Minister isn’t quite warts-and-all – we’d be silly to expect it to be – but as a glimpse into the interior life of a high-profile pol, it’s compelling. Oct 7, 2025 Full Review Tim Miller Cape Cod Wave Magazine It’s moving to see someone in public office exhibit such common sense, character and heart; don’t be surprised if you get choked up long before New Zealand/Australian band Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over accompanies the end credits. Rated: 4/4 Jul 31, 2025 Full Review Peter Keough Arts Fuse With seemingly limitless access, Utz and Walshe achieve an intimate and illuminating portrait of their subject. Bob Its rare to get such a personal, behind the scenes look at a sitting head of state. The film explores her rise, election, pregnancy and being PM with an infant, covid, and other crises that defined her time in office. Genuine and heartfelt. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/19/25 Full Review Carol P Excellent, all-around. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/18/25 Full Review Stephen T helpful and informative perspective on a remarkable woman and leader. well told and moving. New Zealand, who i love, was, for a shining few years led by a matching leader. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/25 Full Review Sparrow H Extremely personal, and every venerability revealed makes you love Jacinda Ardern more. It makes you wish more world leaders were like her. Amazing woman who lead an amazing administration. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Brooke J The audience rating here is only what it is because the comments are infiltrated with those who do not like her. I really wonder if half of them have even seen the film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/17/25 Full Review Amy K As a New Zealander this fell short of the realities of who Jacinda proved herself to be. It saddens me that she is praised as a leader - she was divisive and dishonest and she ditched NZ when she was being held accountable for her actions.
