A magic Guardian Angel type figure; "Puff the Magic Dragon"; voiced by esteemed character actor Burgess Meredith; drops in on a little boy living in suburbia, just like Peter Pan...The boy's Jackie Draper, and he is sad and hiding silently in his his room for years...Infact he appears to be autistic and non-communicative. So in attempt to cure the boy of his SICKNESS; Puff takes Jackie to a magic land where Puff teaches him to conquer his inner demons; so he can finally open up and communicate with his parents in the real world. So, this tv special is sweet and fun...It's your classic fantasy/vision quest type story. And the animation and the scripting are both serviceable and effective. The songs are also delightful.👍

The enormity of the subtext hit me like a ton of bricks. This little cartoon goes so much deeper than a child's mind can comprehend. I would recommend this to virtually everyone.
