Jens B I actually bought the dvd because of the two leads (Kroymann being a very funny comedian, and Ullmann just happens to be the man of my dreams) and.. it's fascinating to watch this film fail on almost every level. There are interesting elements there (and I'm always here for some disturbing character study) but combined with the horrible dialogue and weird directing choices, I cannot understand the good reviews for this. I don't like to judge people but after seeing this film you'll know exactly what director Angelina Maccarone is like as a person and a so called artist. The whole thing is just so pretentious. If you came for Kostja Ullmann it may be worth your time. Despite the rather titillating title, it focuses more on the emotional, psychological side of their relationship than the physical. Of course, Kostja Ullmann is as devastatingly beautiful as ever, and the scenes between them are hot, and yes, those were my initial reasons for watching this. But what I ended up most appreciating was how subtle and honest the story was. It also serves as a tragic reminder that the LGBT community isn't the only sexual minority group that faces discrimination and violence for being open about who they are.
