Lisa Tsering The Hollywood Reporter Somehow, and despite several unrealistic shifts in tone and plot, director Aanand Rai pulls it all together into an appealing mishmash. If Raanjhanaa had kept its tone intact, it would have been a great love story. Rated: 2/5 Jan 29, 2021 Full Review Sukanya Verma Rediff.com Kundan and Zoya aren't easily likeable. They have flaws. They make mistakes. Blunders, really. But Rai shows them for what they are; he never paints a pretty picture. And this brutal honesty coupled with a commanding Dhanush is what works. Rated: 3/5 Apr 14, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The love story of Dhanush is nothing to lose Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review yash b The only reason "Raanjhanaa" isn't getting a lower score is that I genuinely enjoyed the first half of the movie and the performances. I thought the movie had an initially simple and promising premise that got my interest early on. However, the second half of the movie was a complete mess. I was bored by a lot of everything after the intermission and I felt the story become too melodramatic and convoluted. Even though this doesn't even come close to the length of other Bollywood entries, this movie truly feels very long. I found myself having to force myself to sit through the movie's ridiculous second half. It almost feels like two different movies in one because of the polarizing difference in quality between everything before and after the intermission. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Raanjhanaa!! A movie that never ceases to amaze me. I hardly knew Dhanush before I watched the movie for the first time in 2016. But once I watched Raanjhanaa, Dhanush has been my favorite. I am reviewing Raanjhanaa, but I had to start with this guy. A truly unremarkable look, quite incongruous with the hindi film trends where a hero is supposed to be the most handsome guy in the movie. But he a gem. The whole movie revolvesa round him and the way he has portrayed Kundan is simple brilliant, tremendous, inexplicable. No one could have done better as Kundan than Dhanush, I can undoubtedly vouch for that. I am not going to ponder on the story. Rather I would like to say that this is a movie where you find everything, you see unconditional love, you see fun, tragedy and twists. Whereas many reviews say that the transition from the first half to the second half hasn't been smooth, in my opinion, it could not have been any smoother. A total turnover from a love story to a political satire with no patent inconsistency. The dialogs of this movie are simply breath taking. The dialogs and screenplay don't let you be bored for a single scene while watching the movie. It would be an injustice to A R Rahman if I don't say that he is genius and this is his best creation. While I just fast forward the songs of most hindi movies, I was mesmerized by all the songs. And even more importantly, the songs are so integrated with the movie that if you miss one, you have lost some part of the whole story. At last, I would I like to talk about the climax. The climax is so amazingly good that you rarely find such eventful, unpredictable and touchy endings, even in Hollywood movies. So if you are can appreciate a great movie, a great story and direction, Raanjhanaa is what you are looking for. All the characters justified their presence. 10/10 on the acting of almost every character. Dhanush should have got the best actor in a leading role, male for this movie. It's an injustice that he hasn't got that but still he was the best debut actor that year for Raanjhanaa. I haven't talked about any negative aspects of this movie. This is only because it does not have one. Best of luck to those who are going to watch this masterpiece, a gem of a movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review prateek s Kya ladka tha yaar.... itna pyar kiya ladki ko, but sirf gaddari mili ladki se... haha. sahi hai. aisa hi hota hai. :) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member the movie started very well but somehow shifted into politics. the story is about the love of a Hindi man to a Muslim girl who refuses to marry him due to religious differences. The acting was good but the end was not fair as expected Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member There are many good bollywood movies..
