Rosalie B The plot twist in the last 10 minutes made up for the dragging of the plot itself. The last 10 seconds was a little bonus, too. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Good movie to watch for especially road trip that has violently. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review john s A botched heist - turned kidnapping road trip with a pretzel twist ending, this stylish film noire never skips a beat. A botched heist - turned kidnapping road trip with a pretzel twist ending, this stylish film noire never skips a beat. Actually a remake of a Mario Bava obscurity, "Rabid Dogs" is a very French film that gathers three desperate robbers out of their element, dragging three bystanders as safety shields in a Volvo station wagon. A dysfunctional family road trip to be sure. As if matters were not bad enough, each and every stop of the getaway brings new challenges to the group, escalating already fragile personality conflicts, building methodically to an explosive ending. We know this can't end well, but how it ends is well worth the wait. - hipCRANK Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member If you can endure the grimy business of all the human slaughtering, where the body count exceeds in the double digits, the plot is not without its rewards. FINAL VERDICT: a gritty homage to 70's B- movies that's upgraded for modern audience. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I actually liked the reboot version better then the original. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Good ending, but not really interesting enough overall to recommend. Katie Rife AV Club Rabid Dogs is an exciting ride, and that's all you can ask for in a movie like this. Rated: B- Dec 5, 2020 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com While there are some eye-opening moments, not the least of which is a foray into a small town that looks like they're in the midst of a May Day celebration straight out of The Wicker Man, there simply are not enough of them. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 15, 2016 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times French filmmaker Eric Hannezo's new "Rabid Dogs" never betters its predecessor, but it's a smoother ride. Jan 28, 2016 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed Enragés (Rabid Dogs) is an entertaining film with tension almost throughout Apr 16, 2020 Full Review Glenn Lovell CinemaDope What this French redo of Mario Bava's 1974 heist thriller lacks in plot it more than makes up for in flashy camerawork, energy ... Hitchcock would have cued us to the surprise twist earlier. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 7, 2016 Full Review Maitland McDonagh Film Journal International This remake of Mario Bava's 1974 thriller is a serviceable time-killer that benefits from star Lambert Wilson's slow-burn performance.
