04/14/2020 This is a LGBT-themed family drama which I didn't expect to like. And I wasn't surprise why it earned all the awards at the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival. The story is relatable especially about family and sibling issues though not everyone can relate to the LBGT themed. But I like that the movie remain grounded to reality issues and didn't preach about the issues it presents about family nor homosexual love. It wasn't overly dramatic and its story is a refreshing take on family drama. At its climax, it imparts a beautiful lesson about acceptance, being open-minded and foundation of family. All of the casts were commendable with notable performances from Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia and Aiko Melendez. While there are many substories remained unanswered, Rainbow's Sunset dared to tell a different story about family drama yet it ended remarkably and touches the heart of everyone.
