Dina A A soulful and delightful exploration of midlife, shifting identities, reckonings, and one woman's refusal to fade into the background, even if that's what society expects. There's a moment where Ramona says "I don't know how to reconcile who I used to be with who I am now" and her friend says something like, "well I think that's the question of midlife." Boom. Entertaining, relatable, and a lot of fun! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/25 Full Review Tatyana Y A well crafted beautifully acted directed and written film. For me as a middle aged woman who has experienced similar elements to this lead character I was pulled in from the beginning. I was not expecting the ending and that made it even more compelling for me. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/25 Full Review Jeremy L This movie really hits home. As a parent of kids, who used to work as a theatre designer in NYC and elsewhere, it’s a story of the loss and rebirth of self as the person you once were faded into the person you have to be now. The writing is taught. The acting is real. And as a little extra bonus, Ramona lives in the Sunnyside Gardens in queens- a block or so from my old apartment! This movie really could be a biography of my life. If you’re like most of GenX, and had kids in your late 30s/ early 40s you will recognize yourself in this film. We had enough of a life before children (BC) to have a real sense of self and career momentum before the kids came along. And it takes 5-10 years of having them around to really start to come to terms with it. Ramona is at that crossroads. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/25 Full Review Michael T A gem of a film with a humorous punch of reality. Ramona, honestly and humorously faces head-on, her regret, loss of one’s artistic self & success, rivalry and more, when life/family get in the way. Well acted with lots of familiar character actors. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Kate S Great directing! Great writing! Great acting! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Sam H Romona at midlife is very well-crafted. The directing and acting are fabulous. The screenplay is lean and full of wonderful dialogue. The characters are likable and relatable. I once heard Quentin Tarantino say that he could make any low-budget movie look like a much more expensive one. That's what happened with this movie. Well done, Brooke Berman!
