annette Z not a big fan of stinebecks- Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed the story line ,showing the relationship between the little boy and his neglectful father. The boy's closeness with the grandfather irritates his father and the strong love the boy has for his pony, along with the bond he has with the farmhand . A good story about a weakened relationship with his father and the eventual reconciliation ,at the tragic end, with his father. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The best movie score ever composed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't like animal movies in the first place, but I also got weirded out by the strange relationship between Mitchum and that kid in the movie. This movie was just stupid. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member If you watch it just for the performers, than it will be easier to avoid the maudlin plot aspects. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member A heavy-handed tale with some emotionless acting (especially by Loy) and an extraneous subplot about the boy's grandfather's remembrance of the past. A subpar example in the genre of children growing up by taking care of animals. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
