Childhood friends Célio Rocha (Pedro Cardoso) and Otávio Sabóia (Miguel Falabella) become bitter rivals after Otávio's wealthy landowner father scams the Rochas out of their savings. Now grown, Célio gets the chance to expose the Sabóia family's treachery when he is assigned to interview Otávio in the wake of the elder Sabóia's suicide.
