Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Featuring a terrific performance by Ryan Barton-Grimley in the lead role, Repatriation is a modest indie film worth seeking out. Audience Member Chad Taylor comes back to his old town after serving in the army for a while. He catch up with old friends at bars all over town and get's on to a girl that knew him way back. This is a unknown indie film and kind of a miss for me. The acting is horrible most of the time. I never really care, and all the talking seem cheap and uninteristing. As the guy get drunker, the film turn worse and you can tell it's pretty amatour-ish. The music, the development, the characters. It's not authentic even in a pretty straight forward setting like this is. It gave me "The Room" vibes at times. 3 out of 10 uniforms. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Repatriation is a smart and well-made film, jam-packed full of drama and interesting characters, none more so than Barton-Grimley's Chad.
