David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a top-tier contemporary thriller. Rated: 3.5/4 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Javier Ocaña El Pais (Spain) A movie that goes beyond being a thriller and points out social issues in Spain, such as the bank crisis, gender violence and general psychosis from parents who's children have been murdered. [Full review in Spanish] Oct 28, 2015 Full Review Sergio Benítez Espinof This is as close as a Spanish film can get to a Hollywood action film. [Full review in Spanish] Oct 28, 2015 Full Review Alberto Abuín Espinof A movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat for an hour and a half that rarely offers you a chance to catch your breath. [Full review in Spanish] Oct 28, 2015 Full Review Mikel Zorrilla Espinof An excellent thriller during most of it's run time, this mainly due to the great performances and the good direction by Dani de la Torre. [Full review in Spanish] Oct 28, 2015 Full Review Jorge Carrión En Filme It reaches notable moments when it comes to intensity, but it also makes room for a very smart social commentary. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/25/23 Full Review Bearbot 5 Started watching it with little expectations and it turned out to be fantastic entertainment. It even managed to pass a social commentary on the lack of morality of some bankers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review JuanFe R Great Thriller, can be a little bit predictable at some points but keeps the tension at all times. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/28/22 Full Review Late R The general premise -- a person(s) being held hostage by a remote stranger -- is something we're all familiar with and have seen many times before, but that doesn't stop ‘Retribution' from being a thrilling, tense, edge-of-your-seat affair thanks to quality directing from Dani de la Torre and top-notch performances from the cast. It's a pretty slick film that not only delivers the excitement, but also has something to say about prominent social issues in Spain. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/06/21 Full Review Audience Member The suspense is not so...suspenseful and the social commentary seems a bit forced. The script is what is mostly at fault here. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good movie. Good plot and suspense. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
