Wendy Ide Times (UK) The elegant savagery of the author Richard Yates’s dialogue, which reads with a gratifyingly poetic violence, doesn’t sit quite as easily in the mouths of actors. Still the performances are forceful... Jul 25, 2022 Full Review Tammy Oler Bitch Media In making a better man out of Frank Wheeler, Mendes and Haythe have, unfortunately, thrown out one of the real achievement's of Yates's novel: his ruthless critique of 1950s masculinity. Dec 18, 2020 Full Review Deborah Ross The Spectator This is a handsome, intelligent and careful adaptation which may be too bookish... Always fully engrossing, even if it is too coolly detached to ever be involving. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/20/25 Full Review soo b Best acting duo toxic relationships .. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review Don M Excellent acting in this movie!when you watch a movie that leaves you wanting to watch it again ,not just for the great theme of the movie, but the incredible acting professionalism! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Test T It's difficult to find the words to describe just how good this film actually is. The story is a simple everyday tale of an ambitious couple with a young family, but told in an extremely honest and thought provoking way. The acting is superb and the pacing, although steady, is just right. The locations and cinematography are excellent, as is the subtle but purposeful musical score. The whole movie comes togeather so gracefully to take the viewer almost unaware on a compelling and sometimes frightening rollercoaster ride of emotions. It firmly held my attention throughout it's near 2 hour runtime, which seemed to pass much more quickly. I really appreciated this film and thoroughly recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/12/23 Full Review matthias s "Revolutionary Road" is a thought-provoking film that delves into the complexities of suburban life and the human struggle for fulfillment. With strong performances from Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, the movie takes us on an emotional rollercoaster through the highs and lows of their relationship. While the storyline is compelling, the slow pace isn't my cup of tea. However, the beautifully shot scenes and intense dialogues keep you engaged throughout. It's a movie that will leave you pondering the choices we make in life and the price we pay for conformity. A thought-provoking watch for those seeking a departure from mainstream cinema. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Ravi T The acting was great! The story was a bit triggering. Definitely a toxic couple. But I guess that's how it was for couples back then...scary.
