Synopsis
In Italy, Rigoletto (Tito Gobbi), the jester of the duke (Mario Filippeschi), mocks the husbands of the many women that the duke seduces. When the duke orders the arrest of a count whose wife he favors, the man curses both nobleman and jester. Although Rigoletto has shielded his only daughter, Gilda (Marcella Govoni), from the world, she accidentally meets the duke, who brings her to his palace. Furious at his daughter's kidnapping, the jester summons an assassin (Giulio Neri) to take revenge.
