Ex-partners René Boirond (Philippe Noiret) and François Lesbuche (Thierry Lhermitte) have veered in drastically different directions since their days sharing a squad car. While François has been promoted to captain of the force, René has slipped into a destitute existence full of shady gambling and boat races. But, the two find themselves crossing paths once again when René gets pulled into more serious criminal activity. Ultimately François must choose between old loyalties and the law.
