Risen wont fare well with impatient streamers. Writer-director Eddie Arya should be applauded for his creative ambition, but even the most forward-thinking filmmakers need strong performances to sell their product.

This is movie is bad, but in such weird ways it is almost worth watching just to marvel at the shocking shifts in production quality and incoherent tone, all centered around perhaps the most uncharismatic lead performance I have ever seen.

Originale sci-fi movie che prende spunto dal meraviglioso "Arrival" per tramutare lo studio della specie aliena in un horror a tutti gli effetti. Il basso budget è evidente e diventa limitante soprattutto nelle sequenze di azione che sono confusionarie e fastidiose. La sceneggiatura invece è piuttosto originale, soprattutto nella prima parte e nel finale catastrofico; molto interessante l'aspetto dei corpi che tornano in vita per poi restare fermi; inquietante ed in grado di attirare l'attenzione. Gli attori senza dubbio non sono impeccabili e questo a tratti esce; nonostante ciò anche nei momenti più lenti si resiste piuttosto bene. Nonostante le recensioni negative, apprezzabile tentativo di creare con basso budget un prodotto originalmente introspettivo per il genere.

Absolutely horrible. It was the most incredibly slowest moving with barely anything to hold your attention. The whole movie I just kept thinking come on already.... say something, do something... gosh when this going to be over already. The main character has the same stupid look on her face the whole that by the end of it I just wanted to smack it off of her. Like 2 hrs of my life I'll never get back, don't waste your time.
