This unconventional mix of documentary and fiction by filmmaker Patrick Keiller finds a nameless narrator (Paul Scofield) traveling to various points throughout England with his mysterious companion named Robinson. The two have been tasked by an advertising business with exploring Great Britain's vague "problem," and they set off on a road trip to numerous locales, including a prison and a power plant. As they cover much of England, Robinson and his friend survey everyday life in the country.

Audience Member Fascinating, especially for Anglophiles. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member After 'London' Robinson and the narrator continue their journey, visiting most of England and popping fleetingly over the Channel. This is a delightful film which made me feel very homesick. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Koyaanisqatsi with aphorisms instead of Glass. Interesting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Particularly interesting *now* given draconian English policies in re: filming, well, anything. Would it be possible, now, to make a travelogue of England concentrating on prisons, "defense" and surveillance installations, factories, ports, and nuclear power plants? Highly unlikely. Much more interesting than Ross McElwee's Sherman's March. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Great pyschogeographic journey around England. Along with 'London', Keiller has produced a fascinating investigation of the land. The late Paul Scofield's narration adds gravitas. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member if u dont mind a long drawn out documentary its really interesting... otherwise you'll hate it!!!
