While it probably won't be making my favorites list for this year, I was still entertained by Rock Paper Dead, just because it was refreshing to see a slasher film try and mix up the formula a bit with an unconventional approach to its killer. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 5 Rock Paper Scissors (2017) is a horror film that struggles to rise above mediocrity. The story follows Peter as he returns to his family home to confront past murders, but the execution feels flat and unengaging. The screenplay is overly reliant on dialogue and back-and-forth exposition, which slows the pacing and prevents suspense from building effectively. While the premise has potential, the film fails to fully explore it, leaving the narrative feeling predictable and underdeveloped. The cast delivers passable performances, but there’s little chemistry between characters, which undermines the emotional stakes. The direction is uninspired, with visually flat scenes and missed opportunities to heighten tension or create memorable horror moments. Some sequences attempt scares, but they often fall short due to weak framing or pacing. However, the film rarely surprises or captivates beyond basic entertainment. Overall, Rock Paper Scissors (2017) is an underwhelming film See more Margie N May 11 The acting is awful. A better cast might have been able to pull it off. See more 12/19/2020 If you're into the whole old school psychological slasher then by all means go for it. If you want something to play on date night for the thrill of it don't waste your money. This movie feels outdated even for something made in 2017 and the plot lines and shots just make zero sense even after the movie. I truly wish it was casted more appropriately as nearly all of the main characters just feel out of place. Overall not very enjoyable. See more @SavageOtterPaws 08/27/2020 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' certainly isn't bad enough to be classified as a failure, or even generally bad, but it's most definitely disappointing. Despite the involvement of two horror veterans, and a refusal to shy away from some disturbing subject matter, it still manages to feel fairly amateurish. While director Tom Holland is able to create some truly chilling, sleazy atmosphere, he's only able to salvage so much. It's got plenty of bright spots, but it's a far cry from 'Fright Night' or 'Friday the 13th'. See more Read all reviews
