Twiggy H Already not a great start for a film.. terrible choice to have the main character as a grad student with overly-personal interest in the lives of disturbed individuals (pretty sure there's things in place to prevent such people getting into such 'career choices' - big no-no, fictional to the film story or not it just oozes the fact the rest of the film is going to a complete mess) and the fact someone who's supposed to be logical is so soon in the film using daff words like 'meant to be' about something she knowingly choose to do *eye roll* Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/30/24 Full Review Ola G Katie Armstrong (Keri Russell), an American student in Germany studying criminal psychology. She chooses a notorious subject for her thesis: the cannibal killer Oliver Hartwin (Thomas Kretschmann). Oliver dreamed of eating a willing victim and, thanks to the internet, he was able to find a volunteer, a young man named Simon Grombeck (Thomas Huber)... This psychological horror film inspired by the Armin Meiwes cannibal murder case in 2011 has a sidestory with an an American student in Germany studying criminal psychology (played by the always lovely Keri Russell) that doesn´t really add anything to the film. The story about the cannibal killer Oliver Hartwin would´ve worked by itself. It´s dark and seedy film, but unbalanced and not all that exciting. Trivia: "Grimm Love" was scheduled for release in Germany on 9 March 2006. In March 2006, the film was banned by a German court for infringing the personal rights of Armin Meiwes, but the film was sold for an international release and was shown worldwide. In May 2009, the Federal Court of Justice annulled the ban in favor of freedom of arts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Audience Member el papel de Keri Russell en esta película es innecesario. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Makes for difficult viewing. The wrap around plot is a waste of screen time and the childhood flashbacks are poorly done and detract from the power of the piece. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a very disturbing depiction of a very disturbing true event. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I've been watching horror films for most of my 5+ decades, but found this one very hard to stomach. Probably one of the most disturbing films that I've ever seen! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
