Romeo is Bleeding is a freaking mess. It is stylish, but it tries a bit too hard. The plot in confusing, even when the movie was over I wasn't sure what it really was about. Fortunately, the acting is solid. Gary Oldman and Lena Olin are terrific. This just falls in a category of films from the early 90's that tried to reinvent film noir. Could have been better.

Gary literally saves this movie from just being another crime and double-agent clusterfuck like so many noir films that tried too hard to be noir. Everyone has an angle and the jazz music ensues, I'll be damned if I don't like it though.

films like this give noir a bad name. oldman's voiceover is irritating, the script is all over the place and the final result is more sleazy than stylish. almost quit on it a couple times but it kept promising to get better...then went completely off the deep end. the only thing worth watching here is lena olin's psychotic lingerie-clad hitwoman. she's pretty great. what a waste

<b>The story of a cop who wanted it bad and got it worse.</b> Gary Oldman plays a corrupt cop who slowly fucks up his life...by giving off protected locations to the mob...It all went wrong when he met a female russian hit-woman... I loved this movie. Absolutley loved it. Gary Oldman is amazing in it, a really amazing performance. The story is introuging and Lena Olin has to be one of the coolest female villians... Oh and that beginning and the ending, loved the way they had made those... <i>"People think that Hell is fire and brimstone and the Devil poking you in the butt with a pitchfork, but it's not. Hell is when you should have walked away, but you didn't."</i>
