ROSE ISLAND offers an entertaining adaptation of true events in late 1960's Italy. There are interesting anarchist underpinnings that give the story an inspiring air, but it's also true that nothing much happens, on the island or in the film, beyond some parties and some expected conflict and resolution, bringing a few people closer. Perhaps there's deeper insight right there---such is probably the case with most bold endeavors, and the film delivers this sense quite admirably.

Interesting story, but it was tough to get by the bad dubbing and cheese. I did enjoy learning a little about international law for islands and wanted to learn more. It was on Netlfix.

the acting feels natural and easily drew me into feeling the stubbornness and determination of the characters. Unlikely and amazing as the story sounds, knowing this is a true story grounded me into the reality of the moments these people lived, and the realisation that we should always do what we believe in. This is not an action movie. What goes on are emotions not scenes.
