Royalteen is a love story about living with your mistakes, conquering your fears and breaking the internet. When prince Karl Johan (Mathias Storhøi), Kalle amongst friends, and newcomer Lena (Ines Høysæter Asserson) start to develop warm feelings for each other, Lena is charmed but also skeptic, for many reasons. Party prince Kalle is a regular figure in the tabloids and the gossip blogs -- one of them was run anonymously by Lena herself, until she was exposed. Lena is painfully aware that dating the future king might put them both in an impossible situation and she has not told Kalle or anyone else about her even bigger secret, which is also the reason why she moved from her hometown.

To be honest it was a weird show for me. I started watching it expecting something light and more American type drama. As I watched I realised Norwegian teens probably go through something very different. Their access to nicotine, soft drugs and sex seem to come easy and doesn't seem to bother even the roles of parents or friends. That was real strange to me. Also, it was strange that the prince's sister was so hung up about the people her brother goes out with. That wasn't really resolved when she fainted at the last scene after being so mad. That was just weird for me. The movie could be better strung together. It felt like an abrupt and confusing end for me.
