Miles B This is a great movie if you love Westerns, it is extremely funny and a mostly family-friendly Movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This is honestly one of the most underrated comedies of all time and the fact that critics here have given it a 17% score is honestly mind boggling to me. It is one of the most on the nose, self aware, western satires I've ever seen. For me, this movie is right up there with Blazing Saddles. I've never shown this movie to anyone who came out hating it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Great spoof. Wildfire the horse was amazing. Really enjoyed the film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Great funny movie. The root is definitely kicking in. Andy Griffith has never had a funnier role. Same kind of feel as the three amigos, but funnier. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Granted, I first saw this movie nearly 35 yrs ago, but I still quote lines from it to this day ("The way a person dresses is nobody's business but his or her own", and "I'll curse if I wanna curse! Damn! Damn, damn, hell, damn, tee tee, doo doo"). It is a clever parody, and the casting of Berenger, Wayne and Griffith were perfect. I believe it is unfairly compared against Blazing Saddles, which was far edgier. The brand of comedy more closely resembles The Three Amigos, which this movie actually preceded. No doubt what kills it for many is G.W. Bailey's character. He is not strong enough across from Berenger and even with his MASH background, his comedy is poor. The Ward and Henner characters are likewise weak, and you find yourself wanting to get past their scenes and back to the funny parts. Regardless, this movie will provide many lasting LOL memories and is definitely worth watching. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member If you enjoy a spoof with tongue-in-cheek humor you'll like this one. It's one of those rare American movies with good British-style humor. I especially love the scene where our hero confronts Blacky, the evil gunslinger. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Bob Thomas Associated Press Rustlers' Rhapsody tries to challenge the age old rule that you can't satirize the Western, and fails. Oct 17, 2018 Full Review Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune Even on the mechanical level in which it was made, the number of jokes that don't work far outnumber the ones that do. Rated: 2/4 Jul 15, 2014 Full Review Jay Boyar Orlando Sentinel As a 10-minute sketch on Saturday Night Live, it probably would have been dynamite. But at 1 hour, 28 minutes, the picture seems padded. Jul 15, 2014 Full Review Candice Russell South Florida Sun-Sentinel What this one lacks is broad-barreled fun, which is the essential element in a spoof. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 15, 2014 Full Review People Magazine The producer was David Giler, who once turned out such estimable entertainments as Alien and The Parallax View. Couldn't he have put us all out of our misery? They still shelve movies, don't they? Jul 15, 2014 Full Review TV Guide Berenger is excellent, Griffith is delightful, and Wayne (son of John Wayne) is hilarious. Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 15, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
