Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle While Sadako vs. Kayako may leave the gritty, experimental roots of both franchises behind, they conjure up hopes of a new wave of possession. Nov 1, 2016 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Gives you twice the amount of creepy sequences from some of your favorite J-horror ghosts and it’s silly in a fun way to see what happens when they collide, though also feels like an entry into the Scary Movie franchise. Rated: 3/5 May 12, 2023 Full Review Megan Purdy Ms En Scene Sadako vs Kayako is an exercise in self-indulgence. It's a lunchtime debate stretched out into the running time of a feature film, meant only to amuse you and remind you of better films and better days. Feb 7, 2020 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror Sadako Vs Kayako, refreshingly, makes no bones about the kind of movie it is. Rated: 6/10 Oct 4, 2019 Full Review Molly Henery The Blogging Banshee Sadako vs. Kayako is Japan's Freddy vs. Jason. This film will chill you and make you laugh in equal measure. Rated: 7/10 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Kat Hughes THN [It's] filled with odd moments of humour, some of which may or may not be intentional. Rated: 2/5 Aug 30, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Josh A This was an... experience. Full disclosure, I'm not a Ju-On expert so maybe I missed some things and ik a bit about The Ring (I've seen Ring 1998, Ring: Kanzenban, Spiral, the Spiral TV Show, Ring: The Final Chapter and The Ring Virus) but not everything. But I actually really enjoyed it. Was the ending really abrupt? Yep. Was it really fun? Yep. Do I want to check out the Ju-On films now? Hell yep. It's just really over the top fun. It's not Shakespeare, but it's very entertaining. It's like the J-Horror equivalent of Batman Forever in that sense. (Edit: I watched Katasumi and 4444444444. Amazing short films (if you haven't seen them they're basically a prologue to the Ju-On series made in 1998, set during The Curse 1) Overall, fun movie, would recommend at least trying. Next up, Ring 2! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review Mu S Além do título ser uma baita mentira, a trama é entediante e atuações horríveis. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review Audience Member It often felt like I was watching two unconnected movies at the same time. It bounced around, never really focusing on anything for too long. Less of a crossover and more of a shared universe. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review ari f Ignore the bad reviews. We just watched "The Ring vs The Grudge" and loved it. This is one of the most deeply underrated horror movies. I held off for years because the reviews said it was boring and sucked. It's not an action movie. It's a genuinely scary slow burn horror movie that leads to Marvel level horror gags for people who know the mythology of the ghosts. I laughed, I screamed, I panicked, I loved it. Nightmares, here I come. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member he is bad, very bad, the script is nothing scary, but kayako has incredible makeup. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I wasted my time watching two sequels in one... it doesnt have any sence to me adding kayako to the ringu universe or vice versa. This is a clear example to the continuous effort to revive sequels with no success... in some points of the movie, it looks like more a funny movie with some "jokes"? Than a horror film...
