      Audience Member More than just a movie well made, it is actually a depiction of harsh reality.. I am not against my own religion, which i proudly call myself a member of, but when older society norms are twisted the way as depicted in the movie, it breaks my heart.. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I've now seen everything directed by Satyajit Ray except the documentary Sikkim (which has just recently had a 40-year ban lifted, and is due to be screened next year on his 90th birthday). This is short film about a sickly lower-caste who needs spiritual counseling from a Brahmin, but is made to do grueling labor before he will help. Although slightly simplistic, it still manages to pack a wallop and is done with Ray's usual deft handling of human dynamics and emotional resonance. I've said it before but I'll say it again... Criterion (or someone) really needs to start releasing a flood of Ray, it's been far far too long of a wait.
