The journey that made the family even stronger. As an audience, it felt like I was in there with them. My hands were tied behind my back, and I could not do anything. See more dave d 02/23/2022 "Salt in my Soul" is a partially autobiographical account of the years of Mallory Smith and her fight against cystic fibrosis. A hard, but necessary watch, the documentary once again shines a bright light on the failing United States health care system. I knew very little about the disease, but was amazed at how much there is to learn! Very well parsed and explained in detail. Smith charted her life in writing, audio and video. The result of that documentation has been a book and this film and many who are learning how to cope. Smith's life may have been short, but was one well lived! She was tough in a situation that most people would just crumble. Her gratitude despite her health prognosis showed how truly different and special she was.
