Presidente D The documentary was not just about Mallory's challenge fighting cystic fibrosis. It was about everyone's journey in finding ways to overcome the adversities. The journey that made the family even stronger. As an audience, it felt like I was in there with them. My hands were tied behind my back, and I could not do anything. The campaign that her parents are doing is not an easy feat. It's an eye-opener. God bless Mallory and her family. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review Ivy D Salt in My Soul is not just a documentary; it is a profoundly moving experience that delves into the resilience of the human spirit. Chronicling Mallory Smith’s battle with AMR, this film, directed by Will Battersby, touched me in ways I never anticipated. It speaks to the core of my passion for AMR advocacy. Having read Mallory’s memoir, I was deeply moved by her courage and vulnerability. Seeing her experiences come to life on screen added new depth, allowing me to connect with her story on an even more emotional level. This film provided a powerful platform to reflect on her legacy and advocate for AMR awareness to a broader audience. The Singapore screening during World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2024 was a defining moment in my advocacy journey. Diane Shader Smith, Mallory’s mother, joined us virtually to share Mallory’s incredible legacy. Her heartfelt reflections, coupled with Mallory’s own words, served as a powerful reminder of the impact a single voice can have in the fight against AMR. Mallory’s statement, “I am limited in what I can do, but not in what I say,” has stayed with me, a testament to the transformative power of storytelling. Salt in My Soul is more than a film; it is a deeply inspiring reminder that advocacy is about lives, not statistics. This film has left an indelible mark on me, and I know it will inspire others too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/25/24 Full Review Andrea S An inspiring story about an amazing young woman and her committed family that will leave you heartbroken but hopeful. Mallory refused to let her illness define her and teaches us all how important it is to make each moment count. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review dave d "Salt in my Soul" is a partially autobiographical account of the years of Mallory Smith and her fight against cystic fibrosis. A hard, but necessary watch, the documentary once again shines a bright light on the failing United States health care system. I knew very little about the disease, but was amazed at how much there is to learn! Very well parsed and explained in detail. Smith charted her life in writing, audio and video. The result of that documentation has been a book and this film and many who are learning how to cope. Smith's life may have been short, but was one well lived! Final Score: 9/10 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing documentary on a remarkable woman. I read the book first and just watched the documentary. Mallory was such an inspiration in the way she lived. She was tough in a situation that most people would just crumble. Her gratitude despite her health prognosis showed how truly different and special she was. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/22 Full Review Audience Member A powerful movie that shows us the constant struggle the CF patient endures to maintain hope while trying to live life. Thank you for sharing Mallory with us. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
