“Satan’s Slaves: Communion” may be addressed to a younger audience than Anwar’s horrors of the past, but the artistry, the humor, the story, the smartly presented comments, and most of all, the atmosphere are once more on a top level.

The first film was really good. It had solid scares and a very satisfying and compelling plot that felt complete. But the sequel expands on the story so expertly that it makes the first film feel like a mere prelude in hindsight. The scares in this one are also more frequent, more effective, and more elaborate. A very solid sequel all around.

Second part of a great Indonesian horror story, in which the family continues to go through a bad economic time, selling their rural house and moving to a low-class building. In which, if you ask me, I find many parallels with Poltergueist 1 and 2, a first part in the family home and its subsequent exodus escaping from terror to a building with more people and more disturbing moments. A worthy sequel that I never tire of revisiting.

Must watch! The way each scene builds anticipation shows the director's mastery of his craft. The scares are perfectly placed, jumping at you when you least expect. Story is also excellent.
