Arid S Well I liked it, I thought it was interesting and had me interested throughout, the plot was good, actors were good, story was interesting. Can't hate on this at all, very unique! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review Bearly A B One of the most effective zombie movies to creep me out. The documentary style is truly horrifying when used well, and it is used VERY well here. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/17/23 Full Review Rob W One of the best zombie movies in the last 15 years. A new approach and very well done. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/02/23 Full Review joshua When you’re making a horror film what is ultimately your goal, well it’s obviously to scare you, and most horror movies now a days fail to accomplish that goal, so when I watched a review of butterfly kisses from Chris stuckman about a year ago he had recommended a movie called SAVAGELAND in the review, while checking the film out It seemed like it had good reviews so I had no reason not to check it out, the film is a fake documentary kinda similar to another great horror film Lake Mungo, the style of the film is absolutely brilliant and helps the pacing of this film feel real and not boring the film starts off interesting and ends interesting, this film ultimately scared me shitless, Yeah this film is absolutely terrifying, and what makes the movie so terrifying are the images that are in the film, the images show the events of what happened the night of the towns demise which is what the film is about, the photos show in grizzly detail of what happened to the town and the phots depict these zombies that roam the streets chowing on the victims and the zombies looks absolutely horrifying they legit sent chills down my spine as the photos kept coming, the church scene will forever be burned into my brain and I’ll never forget the line GRACE IS GONE, now I’ve heard that some people do not like this film because they thought the acting was bad and that the political message in the film is dumb but I completely disagree the whole cast did a great job especially during the emotional moments and the political message isn’t meant to be biased the whole message is that two sides can’t see the bigger picture and the whole time I was just wondering if they’ll ever figure out what’s really going on, but they never do, it leaves you with this feeling that this is going on right now and that unless we get are s**t together and work together we won’t see the bigger picture and it works as a horrifying example of the things going on today, Overall this film was phenomenal from the performances to the political message not being biased and the photos being scary as shit like no joke I still think about the church scene and just can’t help but look over my shoulder to make sure I’m ok it’s that good, but to pretty much everything about this film makes it a great horror film, Definitely check it out. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/21 Full Review Audience Member A well constructed horror mockumentary that tells a compellingly creepy story and keeps you engaged throughout. I thought all of the performances were believable enough which can be the pitfall of found footage/mockumentary filmmaking. Savageland is not a masterpiece or life changing film but it is a very unique film that tackles the difficult mockumentary genre which can very easily give into cheesiness or lack enough believe-ability to keep you engaged; luckily that wasn't the case with Savageland. Other than some cliché characters, I thought it nailed its premise. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Great, original style of zombie flick! Fresh techniques put a real world spin on story that unfolds slowly but surely, building up creepy steam the whole way. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
