A harmless, pleasant and kid-friendly film. It's refreshing to see a live action family film which is something very rare these days. Go to Full Review

Andrea 04/01/2023 This is not as advertised at all. They laid English speaking voices over the film that was filmed in another language. Its REaLLy bad. Really bad. See more Christina 03/28/2023 The voices didn’t line up with the characters for the whole movie it was very distracting. Overall the movie was decent. See more Angel K 03/27/2023 i love it. it's about friendship. i had experience how Beni has been through and being alone and got falsely accused. I would love to watch again and again. See more Maura 03/26/2023 Terrible - actors were bad and it was distracting how the English was voiced over See more Elaine 03/26/2023 My 5 y/o granddaughter said she kind of liked it. See more Angie A May 21 As an adult, I’m accustomed to dubbed films so the unsynced words didn’t bother me. In fact, this is a first movie to expose your children to another culture. Now to our show: “School of Magical Animals” reminds me of Harry Potter meets Dr. Doolittle, (if Harry Potter was limited to one class in a “muggle” school). The magical community consists of the children in the class, the sister who teaches and the brother who runs the zoo and distributes magical animals who talk and have the ability to turn into stuffed toy versions if seen by anyone who isn’t in the magical community. Several memorable children share the POV, headed by a red-haired character named Ida. I’ve seen both movies and loved them. There was a little bit of “children are smarter than the adults in authority” as seen in some children/YA movies, but this storyline emphasized loyalty, friendship, and community with a little sprinkle of magic. I enjoyed both movies and am looking forward to the next. And yes, I’d love for an English-speaking production company to make a version, or I could just take a lesson from the movie and overlook the dubbing. This film would be enjoyed by those aged 10 and up. (It may be a little long for younger children.) See more Read all reviews
