Panos Kotzathanasis HanCinema "Secret Reunion" is a very entertaining film, which benefits the most from its production values and Song Jang-ho's performance. Jan 6, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

G A Featuring flawed but highly relatable characters, "Secret Reunion" is an excellent entry in the espionage-thriller genre that eventually morphs into an unlikely buddy film. Stars Song Kang-ho ("Parasite," etc.) and Gang Dong-won anchor the production, but the cast is filled with Korean notables, each of whom turns a strong performance. Director Jang Hoon moves things along, balancing action, intrigue, and character development until the film reaches its satisfying conclusion. It helps to know something about Korean perspectives on North-South politics, which are more complex than many Americans realize, but the film stands on its own. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Sameir A It's a watchable movie especially for Korean film fans. From the beginning, you know where it is going, yet good to watch. A mixture of Thriller, Action and Drama. Not going deep into the political outer cover, this is a movie about the brotherly affection between two lonely souls, from South and North Korea. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/19/21 Full Review Audience Member The best Korean movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I can already feel the blood bath. A North Korean agent/detective works in South Korea and convinces his boss that a North Korean assassin is about to make the news. He teams up with an ambitious assassin to help take down the assassin known as The Shadow. "Please stop. Do you see them only as money?" Hun Jang, director of Rough Cut and The Front Line, delivers Secret Reunion. The storyline for this picture is actually fairly intricate and well done. The action is also very dramatic and the cast delivers excellent performances. The cast includes Kang-ho Song, Dong-wong Kang, and Su-ho Ha. "You'll make me more money over time." I grabbed this off Netflix because I have historically thoroughly enjoyed Kang-ho Song's pictures (Thirst and The Host). This was another well done and well written picture. The film isn't perfectly paced, but I did enjoy the way the film is executed. I recommend giving this a viewing. "I want to live!" Grade: B Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Average movie . + 0.5 for Song Kang for another funny act Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a serviceable spy/buddy/comedy. Sang kang-ho even in a mediocre film is always watchable. It doesn't really have anything in the way if original ideas but what it does have are some good performances, some laugh at loud moments and some genuine fun.
