Adarsh T I always been loving Kalyani. She is so cute . since, Hello movie i'm big fan of her. Sesham Mikeil Fathima, directed by Manu C Kumar, is a chirpy, loud movie but a half-hearted attempt at exploring the aspects of a girl from a conservative background achieving her dreams. It failed to explore real conflicts in depth and took the easy way out with a family that is flexible to an extent which is often not the reality. And that makes it a regular formulaic movie and nothing out of the ordinary. The story revolves around Fathima (Kalyani Priyadarshan), a wide-eyed, bubbly aspiring football commentator whose biggest supporter, initially, is her brother, played by Aneesh. Her father (played by Sudeesh) is a former footballer. She grew up watching and understanding football and has a habit of chattering wherever she is. Later, she decides to pursue a career as a football commentator and arrives in Kochi from Malappuram. What follows forms the crux of the film. The script falters after a point and her journey is something that has been seen in similar films before. There is nothing very relatable about her 'struggle'. In fact, at one point the character is written in such a way that she gets annoying. The journey seems very superficial and uses many elements that have been seen in poorly done sports movies featuring women characters before. Femina George's character as the 'friend' or more like a sidekick, was fine. Shaheen Siddique's role was that of a grumpy depressed football player facing a ban. He again, didn't have much to do. Hesham Abdul Wahab's music adds to the jovial atmosphere Fathima sets whenever she appears on screen but even the most joyful appearance can't uplift a film without a strong script. Verdict: Hit.
