When Japan overruns an Indonesian island during World War II, Grace Ingram (Patricia Owens) is put in a detention camp with a group of women. The detainees include pregnant American Janet Cook (Yvonne Craig), German widow Anna Van Laer (Sylvia Daneel), Frenchwoman Claire Oudry (Denise Darcel) and nurse Mai-Lu Ferguson (Pilar Seurat). The women suffer sadistic treatment before they're given a chance to escape by the sympathetic Dr. Matsumo (Yuki Shimoda). However, their nightmare isn't over yet.
