A K Amazing movie. I was kind of glued to my screen. Tapsee Pannu was amazing as usual and other characters too did justice to their role. What kind of Indian are those who hate these kind of movies. 83 didn't do good and based on the rating I think this one too didn't do good. Why? This movie portrays the true story of what these girls go through. I always wonder how different is Virat or other cricketers from this team? Didn't these teams represent India at the end of the day? Then Why one is worshipped and one is ignored. Shame on us. I hope it is watched by everyone to show our love for this team. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/05/22 Full Review Audience Member This sports drama was really good. Taapsee Pannu, Mumtaz Sorcar, Vijay Raaz, and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job in this movie. This true story about Mithali Raj, the captain of the Indian women's cricket team was dramatic, inspirational, and amazing. It's about proving to others and yourself that anyone can be anything no matter who they are and do incredible things in the process. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a definite must see. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review lana k Here's the issue with this movie. They used a feminist agenda to gain an audience. The whole movie was centralled around the fact that she was jealous of the Indian men's cricket team instead of focusing on her skill to improve, she had to shame her brother out just to prove she can play better and let's not even begin with how they portrayed noori( whose character was not played by a Muslim actor) it was serving a political agenda stating how Muslim girls can't play cricket due to religious fathers which is probably only 1% of them Muslims are not opressed they have freedom.! It was a very political agenda movie they just put a emotional spin on it to gain an audience. Very disappointed.! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review 2014galaxy G Super awesome movie. Very underrated. The true struggle of a women in India to comeout and play cricket for the country when nobody cared about Women Cricket. Full heart out to the makers and the actors. Looks like the marketing and advertisement for the film was not done properly. Hats off to the team. If you are a cricket lover and like to watch the biopic of the greatest women cricketer and living legend of cricket , you should watch this. This is a true example of great divide between men and women. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/22 Full Review Rohit S overacting by tapse, the way sushant did acting of dhoni, there was some expectation from her also. Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Taapsee Pannu shines in a film that has no space for nuance. Director Srijit Mukerji ensures everything is underlined in this sports drama. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 18, 2022 Full Review Ishita Sengupta News9 Live (India) Like most men, Srijit Mukherji thinks he understands women. Like most men, he does not. https://www.news9live.com/entertainment/shabaash-mithu-mithali-raj-biopic-srijit-mukherjis-understanding-of-women-is-as-skewed-as-his-idea-of-filmmaking-184688 Aug 25, 2022 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix It's rare to have theatrically released biopics about Indian women who are sports pioneers, so it's a shame that Shabaash Mithu terribly bungles the true story of cricket star Mithali Raj. The film is bloated and sappy, with bad acting and sloppy editing. Aug 8, 2022 Full Review Rachana Dubey The Times of India Those keenly waiting to finally watch a movie revolving around Mithali, one of women's cricket's most iconic contemporary players, will certainly be left asking for more. Maybe a rerun of one of her milestone matches will help. Rated: 3/5 Jul 18, 2022 Full Review Anna M.M. Vetticad Firstpost The Taapsee Pannu starrer Shabaash Mithu fails to capture the spirit, charisma and achievements, including records, of the legendary cricketer Mithali Raj. Rated: 2/5 Jul 18, 2022 Full Review Suchin Mehrotra Hindustan Times The Taapsee Pannu-starrer biopic of cricketer Mithali Raj has rare moments of humanity but is otherwise just another loud sports biopic.
