Wendy Ide Screen International It is not an easy watch, but, driven by performances that range from haunting and affecting, to terrifying and grotesque, it is a powerful one. Oct 26, 2023 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine No punches are pulled in Shinya Tsukamoto’s bleak, emotionally haggard drama Shadow of Fire. Rated: 8/10 Nov 23, 2024 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse Although on a level lower than his previous two films, particularly due to the difference in scope, “Shadow of Fire” is still an exceptional movie, from a filmmaker that continues on the unique road he paved by himself decades ago. Rated: 7.5 Feb 25, 2024 Full Review Forrest Cardamenis The Film Stage Just as Shadow of Fire is at its best when its setting is more constrained, Tsukamoto is at his most resourceful when he has less to work with. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Read all reviews
