Critics Consensus

More unsettling than truly scary, She Will casts a thoughtful, hypnotic spell made even stronger by its restrained approach and some strong performances.

Rated: 3/5 Aug 8, 2022 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Marries the spiralling, self-reflexive narrative of Shirley Jackson’s novel The Haunting of Hill House with echoes of the off-kilter visual sensibility of the 1962 cult oddity Carnival of Souls. rocktrim not quite sure what was going on there. maybe im not smart enough to interpret the subtle plot development. i think it was about healing properties of hallowed ground due to witches killed centuries before. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/19/22 Full Review Tom L Solid cast, intelligent writing, great cinematography and scenery/setting, positivity dripping (sometimes literally) with an atmosphere of nebulous dread. And yet I couldn’t help but feel like the film didn’t quite deliver on its promise of dark and vague foreboding in the woods, with its dreadful history of witch burnings. The progression of the relationship between the two female leads was poignant and handled well, but the eventual revelation of what amounted to a revenge tale was a bit disappointing. Still, this film has much to recommend it. I was reminded of the strange and unsettling stories of Robert Aickman, particularly in the movie’s early scenes. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/12/24 Full Review Melissa L Great movie. Suspenseful and atmospheric. Great acting. Forget the low ratings...I recommend it! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/28/24 Full Review Natalie Jo B Must see - really fantastic cinematography and cosmology Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review Kyle M It re-summons the 70s psychology with less visceral shock but eased unsettlingly whilst reasoning with the timely given thematic material as it creeps ominously to little, decently average impressive effect, powered by fine performative participations in one degree of inadvertent spiritual continuation. (B) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Lwal W This movie SUCKS. So boring, if you like watching a product of feminist maturbation with not even a hint of creativity then watch this otherwise ignore the less than intelligent nipples who gave this 85 percent.
