This movie was PERFECT. Played homage to the original while expanding on some creative ideas. Beautiful in every aspect... from the way they shot the various aspects of the film, to the fantastic action sequences, to the overall heart behind the characters as well as their designs. Creativity and vision grounded in reverence of the original source material.

It's a given in the Shin universe, but I was a little thrown off by the jerky, totally CG model fights and the emotionally blank, hyper-analytical performances in a Kamen Rider movie. That said, most of the time, Anno Hideaki's quirks fit both the dark existential themes of the manga and the surreal, sometimes goofy, nature of the original TV show together in this new adaptation of both stories. The nods to Ishinomori Shotaro's other works and behind-the-scenes trivia were so fun to catch. I'm happy to have seen this alongside an audience of other Kamen Rider fans, whether they're for the Showa era, Heisei, Reiwa, or all of the above.

Overall very good, if your looking for a good action flick or are a kamen rider fan then its a great watch, will say if your expecting a normal movie you'll be disappointed, more of a kamen rider experience then a story masterpiece.
