A disarmingly tender look at young adult ennui, this Shithouse don't stink.

Justin Williams Great movie that really captures the true reality of the coming of age phase and the college transition that is faced today by many. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/17/20 Full Review Scott M Exceptionally made drama about a homesick guy's first 2 years at an out of state college. Very talky. Similar to the movie "Before Sunrise". Loved it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/18/23 Full Review casnien What a emotion does this movie have, Cooper Raiff is instantely one of my favorite directors. This movie has it flaws, but the highs are insanely high. That phonecall with his mom, heartbroken. This movie feels so realistic, i think everybody who goes to college has some time like this, such a great movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/03/23 Full Review tom m It was better than I thought it was going to be. The title, and to some degree the description, led me to expects some stupid, college frat slapstick comedy. While there was a small bit of that stupid stuff, it was mostly about a distraught youth finding his way. Heartwarming, actually. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review toby h Shithouse is Raiff's clever indie gem debut. A modern college based romantic comedy full of sensitivity and wittiness. Don't let the brash title deceive you, this is all about familiar feelings. This is the shit. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member You rarely see movies that can touch human emotions on a basic level. I really enjoyed this movie, and related to a lot of parts. The movie has laughter, sadness, surprise everything. Everyone should watch this movie, even though not relatable, it will help one understand what humans go through in real lives. Emily Maskell Little White Lies Raiff deserves all the credit he's getting. Rated: 4/5 Oct 4, 2021 Full Review John Nugent Empire Magazine A funny, tender treat. Rated: 4/5 Oct 2, 2021 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) These two make Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, from the Before movies, seem like Rhodes scholars, and a lot less fragile too. Rated: 2/5 Oct 1, 2021 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Cinencuentro It may have some technical flaws - weird cuts, awkward camera movements - but they're not enough to spoil the good acting and entertaining script.
