Critics Consensus

This road trip horror outing may take one Shortcut too many to count as a truly satisfying journey, but refreshing brevity and a show-don't-tell approach smooth the ride.

Shot in Italy, with an English cast, there's a crisp, almost fairytale levity to Alessio Liguori's horror adventure that sits oddly but not unworkably with its gorier elements. Go to Full Review

If only someone had course-corrected the filmmakers on their own route to making this letdown of a horror road-movie, which gets off to a good start before losing its way. Go to Full Review

Both an amateurish production and a mindless genre exercise. Go to Full Review

A serviceable creature-feature that will play well enough with housebound under-'20s, the patch-quilt monster-movie/teen drama Shortcut is light on logic but buoyed by an engaging spirit. Go to Full Review

While there are great performances, intense moments, and a little bit of blood, Shortcut is a creature feature whose creature comes up short. Go to Full Review

11/05/2020 I enjoyed it but my friend didn’t. She doesn’t like horror. Lol See more 10/18/2020 Absolutely the dumbest movie I’ve ever watched. This was a compilation of multiple thriller movies of the past, but on a very cheap level. See more 10/17/2020 Horrible movie. Do not go watch it. Waste of time and money. See more 10/14/2020 There was some suspense and some excitement. The creature wasn't the scariest looking but the noises coming from it were great for Halloween. It was an ok movie. See more 10/12/2020 The movie was confusing and the plot was dry. See more 10/07/2020 We got there late, so we missed some of it, but for the parts that we saw, the acting was terrible, no one seemed scared. The creature reminded me of Predator mixed with the Crypt Keeper from Tales from the Crypt. This would be appropriate for a child (ex. 6 year old). Not scary at all. Only minor cursing.
