Despite the cool monsters, the cute slobbering dog and Catherine Zeta-Jones's swashbuckling Marina, "Sinbad" comes off as surprisingly unmagical, with characters you only half care about.

I absolutely love this movie. The music is great and it has a plot that makes sense. But the thing I love most about this film is that every character is likable and is doing the right thing from their perspective.

I just watched The Road to El Dorado and this felt flat and boring in comparison. The backgrounds were very pretty to look at but the foreground was a bit dull visually. The action seemed to come out of nowhere and felt disconnected from the rest of the plot. I wish the villain would have had more edge to her. I wish the story had more bite. It was like any and all edges got filled off to a perfectly uninteresting roundedness. My favorite part was the unexpected maturity of both the romance and the ending.

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (2004) is a well-made adventure that engages the audience from beginning to end, the graphics are very good. The only thing I didn't like was the main plot, it should have been more in-depth.
