Produced by the National Film Board of Canada, this quasi-documentary focuses on a group of underprivileged black teens in the West Indian section of Montreal. Pat (Pat Dillon) falls for Fabian (Fabian Gibbs), but when she becomes pregnant, Fabian drops out of school to provide for Pat and their baby, even though it jeopardizes his chances of furthering his education and puts the strain of grown-up problems on their teenage relationship. The film features a score by reggae legend Jimmy Cliff.
