Skeleton Man

R 2004 1h 40m Horror List
Reviews 5% Popcornmeter 1,000+ Ratings
Capt. Leary (Michael Rooker) and Sgt. Oberron (Casper Van Dien) have been sent into the forest to investigate the disappearance of a group of military infantrymen. At first, their investigation stalls, as their only lead is an old Native American legend about a restless spirit called Cotton Mouth Joe. Leary and Oberron aren't interested in this seemingly silly folk tale -- until a skeleton riding on horseback arrives, and members of their crew start turning up dead.

Audience Member This has to be the worst movie ever made! Tremendously bad and ridiculous. The upside is that it will make you laugh till you die. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/24 Full Review David B It's pretty bad, but not bad enough to be good. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I don‘t get why this movie get‘s so much hate…It‘s actually a fun ride IF you know what you‘re in for (a low-budget horror flick that doesn‘t take itself too serious. Yes, the writing and the plot isn‘t the best BUT i think the film looks great and i had fun with it. I also LOVED the slow-mo shots of the sparks!! All in all a fun low-budget horror flick! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Holy crap was this bad! Everything about it was bad...the writing, the directing, the costuming, the acting (except for Michael Rooker), the characters, the plot. This is a movie that needs to either be on MST3000 or used specifically for a drunken "bad movie night." Seriously, this is really, really awful. I could do a better movie with my cell phone and making up a story as a I go along. The plot makes no sense at all. There are a bunch of random, unrelated, unmotivated killing sequences by this skeleton man on horseback. Of course, it's not affected by bullets. Several of the female characters are so over the top trying to be badasses, that it just comes off as pathetic. Ellen Ripley or Sarah Connor they are not! Also, what the hell is it with putting women in tank tops while supposedly carrying backpacks? It's ridiculous. Then again, the men are carrying full packs and the women are carrying little day packs that must be filled with crumpled up newspaper the way they sling them around. So, I guess the plot needed it to be that way. It's just so amazingly stupid and bad. I like Michael Rooker, but this is just....bad. It just is meaningless and nonsensical. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member It rips off of just about every 80's action sci-fi film, but that's probably the only thing about it that makes it enjoyable. Everything else about it is slow, dumb, and ridiculously unintentionally laughable. The characters are shoddy, and the plot is just a mess. Weather it be Predator or Terminator, Skeleton Man holds no originality. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review bradley p Skeleton Man is an awful pile of rotting garbage; it's quite obvious the film wants to be Predator but somehow manages to be the most uninteresting, unoriginal, cliched piece of garbage that I have seen in sometime.
