Capt. Leary and Sgt. Oberon have been sent into the forest to investigate the disappearance of a group of military infantrymen. At first, their investigation stalls, as their only lead is an old Native American legend about a restless spirit called Cotton Mouth Joe. Leary and Oberon aren't interested in this seemingly silly folk tale — until a skeleton riding on horseback arrives, and members of their crew start turning up dead.

David B @RT14283473 May 27, 2023 It's pretty bad, but not bad enough to be good. See more Jun 18, 2020 Holy crap was this bad! Everything about it was bad...the writing, the directing, the costuming, the acting (except for Michael Rooker), the characters, the plot. This is a movie that needs to either be on MST3000 or used specifically for a drunken "bad movie night." Seriously, this is really, really awful. I could do a better movie with my cell phone and making up a story as a I go along. The plot makes no sense at all. There are a bunch of random, unrelated, unmotivated killing sequences by this skeleton man on horseback. Of course, it's not affected by bullets. Several of the female characters are so over the top trying to be badasses, that it just comes off as pathetic. Ellen Ripley or Sarah Connor they are not! Also, what the hell is it with putting women in tank tops while supposedly carrying backpacks? It's ridiculous. Then again, the men are carrying full packs and the women are carrying little day packs that must be filled with crumpled up newspaper the way they sling them around. So, I guess the plot needed it to be that way. It's just so amazingly stupid and bad. I like Michael Rooker, but this is just....bad. It just is meaningless and nonsensical. See more Aug 21, 2013 It rips off of just about every 80's action sci-fi film, but that's probably the only thing about it that makes it enjoyable. Everything else about it is slow, dumb, and ridiculously unintentionally laughable. The characters are shoddy, and the plot is just a mess. Weather it be Predator or Terminator, Skeleton Man holds no originality. See more Jan 22, 2013 THIS IS NOT A GOOD MOVIE! But if you need a movie with no plot, lots of laughs, and the best villain dressed in a Halloween costume you could buy right now this is your drunken evening fun. Skeleton Man shoots down a helicopter with a bow and arrow! That's awesome!!! See more Dec 5, 2012 So bad it's good, I love this movie, seriously See more Oct 13, 2012 While I realise this was made for TV it doesn't change the fact that this was the worst piece of crapola I've ever watched. I knew it was going to be pretty lame when it opened on a scene of two archaeologists who just found a great discovery of an indian burial ground but I never could have predicted this. The monster, while being ok in concept, is just a guy in a Hallowe'en costume. I don't think anyone made the costume or did any makeup... I think they went to a costume store and purchased a cheap Hallowe'en costume. That I didn't mind so much as this monster does go around killing people with some OK physical FX shots. Unfortunately, there's no reason for the killing. He just does it. The film tries to "justify it" via an old "native american" in the forest but the story he tells doesn't fit with the rest of the film. There are plenty of explosions but either they are footage from another movie (as they're the best parts of this film) OR the filmmakers blew the entire budget on those unrelated scenes. The "soldiers" are all wearing civilian clothes and have no idea what they're doing. They are the most undisciplined, idiots, ever to not wear the uniform... but they're supposed to be the best of the best elites. Nothing about this film makes sense. Anything you might overlook just has you shaking your head at something else. What Michael Rooker and Casper Van Dien are doing in this film is beyond me. I think this was a film made on lots of favours being turned in cause absolutely nobody seemed to know what they were doing and when Michael and Casper are the best things about your movie... that's not saying much.
