Former secret agent for the Spanish government Francisco Paesa gets involved in an extortion case and is forced to leave the country. When he returns, his life is ruined. Then, the former director general of the Civil Guard and his wife offer Paesa a huge reward if he will save 1,500 million pesetas of stolen public money. Paesa seizes the chance to repair his life and get some revenge against the government and enlists his friend Jesus Camoes to help him.

Based on real event, it tells the story of the man behind the year-long vanishing of Luis Roldan, the General Director of the Civil Guard who embezzled $16M from tax money.
