Nikki C Hilarious. My friend and I were laughing so much during this movie that I think we upset the people in front of us. The whole story is so random and unexpected and the situations are so awkward. Characters reminded me of people I know. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Sophie M What makes this film special is how the city is a character. It is familiar, touching, and having lived in San Francisco myself, I appreciate the attention the writer gave to the setting. Just when the characters are becoming a bit too much, the city intervenes each time with some form of magic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review Rene B In this film, characters meet, collide, and navigate fluidity, expectations, and power in personal relationships. “Sneaking Around” took my emotional perceptions to personal spaces of negotiation--both connective and destructive--that I did not anticipate, but appreciate having witnessed and perhaps evolved from emotionally. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review Jerrod C This is a must see because it's exciting to see a new director who demonstrates a world view that makes you think they are at the start of a great career. Among the standouts are Mb Weider and Mayumi Roller as Lani who has the stuff to be a bigger star. It's like a tight piece of literature that shows a manipulative woman unaware of her need for control that keeps her from finding love. The film also shows San Francisco in a way that is real and authentic. That with the acting draws us into the story. A realism that makes us feel like we're there. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/19/24 Full Review Yajaira M I am convinced that this film fulfills the ultimate purpose of art: to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. Sneaking Around is a daring and thought-provoking examination of contemporary relationships, set against the shifting landscape of San Francisco. Emily A. Meehan highlights the tension between affluence and struggle, power and fragility offering a profound commentary on love, self-discovery, and the pursuit of connection. With its narrative the film immerses the audience in a powerful emotional experience, encouraging them to rethink the concepts of love and success. It invites contemplation of the intricacies within human connections. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review June J Amid the backdrop of freewheelin’ San Francisco meet Frances, strong willed, career driven and newly attracted to women after years of being in a marriage to a man she doesn’t love. On the brink of taking her company to an IPO, Frances woos/seduces young and beautiful free spirited women who, after she ‘gets’, she tries to change to fit her idea of how a woman should be. The viewer struggles to like Frances but manipulation of her romantic interests doesn’t allow for that. Instead one finds herself being sympathetic to the women Frances discards. Intimate scenes of interiors in San Francisco and sights and sounds of the city provide a rich backdrop for the unfolding plot and eventual surprise ending. With humor sprinkled throughout and a stellar soundtrack this is a film you should not miss. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
